Pourquoi aime-t-on un film?
Quand on cherche à l’expliquer, les mots souvent manquent pour exprimer son ressenti, et on se rabat machinalement sur des notions techniques, comme la mise en scène, la qualité de l’image, et, dans le cas d’un anime, de l’animation ou du chara-design. C’est un peu court. Surtout, quand, pris isolément, chaque élément est finalement assez banal. Un film à la technique qui ne se voit pas, à l’animation ni bonne ni mauvaise, au chara-design ordinaire, aux décors précis et détaillés certes, mais un film globalement sans esbroufe, sans image choc, sans idée révolutionnaire.
Et pourtant, un film qui nous rentre discrètement dans le coeur, et à la fin duquel on ressent une douce nostalgie, « tiens, c’est déjà fini, dommage… »
A quoi ça tient? A des riens. A des personnages réels, qui ne sont pas héroïques mais qui nous ressemblent, qu’on aimerait avoir pour amis. A une histoire banale, dont le mystère naît des non-dits, et dont le suspense se nourrit de ce qui n’est pas montré. A une histoire d’amour tellement simple, mais tellement touchante, parce qu’on l’a tous rêvée quand on était adolescent. Ou parce qu’on la rêve encore.
Je ne vous la raconterai pas, cette histoire, parce que vous la connaissez déjà. Et pourtant elle vous surprendra. Chaque scène est une tranche de vie, montrée avec justesse, délicatesse, simplicité. Evidence.
Tu peux entendre la mer n’est pas sorti en salles, il a été produit pour la télévision, et dure à peine plus d’une heure et dix minutes. C’est quand même un vrai film Ghibli, car il a cette marque de fabrique que l’on retrouve dans Totoro, ou Chihiro, mais c’est aussi un film à part parce qu’il ne prétend pas en avoir la fibre fantastique ou dramatique. Ici, on reste dans la vie de tous les jours. Et c’est aussi dans cette vie ordinaire que l’on peut trouver l’émotion et l’évasion.
Je ne vous raconterai pas non plus la fin, qui reprend la scène d’ouverture et fait de cette histoire un flash-back revécu sur un quai de gare. Une fin ouverte, qui invite à imaginer la suite, et que l’on construira sur des détails, et sur nos propres expériences.
Un très joli film, attachant comme une promesse, du genre : « je le reverrai ».
