Si vous n’êtes pas de Chartres ou de sa région, vous n’avez probablement pas encore entendu parler du Prix Mangamado. Normal : c’est une nouvelle initiative, lancée le 28 janvier, et de rayonnement local. Mais j’ai trouvé l’idée sympathique, dans son principe comme dans son organisation, donc je vais la relayer ici.
Il ne s’agit pas d’un prix littéraire doté d’une récompense à remettre à l’auteur, mais d’un concours local, organisé par les élèves et les professeurs de collèges et lycées du quartier de la Madeleine, à Chartres, avec le soutien de la bibliothèque municipale et des trois principales librairies de Chartres : L’Esperluette (librairie généraliste), BD Flash (come son nom l’indique) et Sakura l’Esprit Manga (idem).
L’esprit du concours est double :
- proposer aux jeunes lecteurs des mangas un peu différents de ce qu’ils lisent habituellement, par exemple cette année des histoires ancrés dans la vie réelle ;
- valoriser la lecture des mangas, vis-à-vis des adultes, qu’ils soient parents ou professeurs.
La sélection 2011 a pour thème : « virage ». Les cinq mangas choisis ont pour sujet commun la transformation d’un jeune héros face aux aléas de la vie. Un thème assez large, qui permet le débat et les discussions entre jeunes et adultes. Les titres sélectionnés sont les suivants : Ascension, Bakuman, Evil Heart, Une sacrée mamie, et Un ciel radieux. Pour ma part, je trouve que ce sont tous des titres intéressants, et que j’avais noté sur mes tablettes.
L’organisation du concours est simple :
- peuvent voter : les élèves des établissements scolaires participants (Collège Mathurin-Régnier, Collège Victor Hugo, Lycée Fulbert), les lecteurs de la bibliothèque municipale de la Madeleine, les clients des librairies citées. Les bulletins sont disponibles dans des espaces dédiés dans chacun de ces lieux.
- les livres sont mis à la disposition des lecteurs, en prêt ou en consultation libre, dans les établissements scolaires participants et à la librairie Sakura.
- pour rendre le concours ludique et attractif, un tirage au sort parmi les votants offrira des lots (mangas, goodies, bons d’achat) offerts par les librairies participantes.
Clôture des votes et remise du prix : le 30 mai. Des infos plus détaillées (notamment sur les animations ou activités lies) sont disponibles sur le blog du prix Mangamado (les images ci-dessus sont reproduites de ce blog).
Je félicite les organisateurs de ce concours, certes modeste, mais qui va dans le bon sens : valoriser le manga comme une lecture digne de ce nom, et participer à la diffusion de titres de qualité parmi le grand public, pas forcément connaisseur.
